Got dumpster number six delivered. Hoping this is the last one. Today was all about clearing out that giant pile of wood on the back patio - all the cupboard pieces I'd cut up and removed over the past weeks.
Also throwing in the old washing machine, oven, and dryer. Good riddance.
Spent time removing the backer board from under the kitchen tile. Turns out there was old laminate flooring underneath - stapled into the subfloor. Not peel-and-stick that you can scrape out. This is removing staples and scraping piece by piece. Monotonous work.
The reprieve: listening to Walter Isaacson's book on Einstein. Just finished the Elon Musk one and started this. Makes the tedious work more bearable.
Not a huge day for visible progress - maybe 2% further on demo. But sometimes the work is just grinding through the details.
Left my Oura ring at home. Will have to grab it tomorrow.
Ruby pulled a sneaky move and bought us dinner from a different state. Went to Porcupine after working on the house - really appreciated. Thank you Ruby and Collin.
Speaking of Collin: he's launching a website soon, built in Cursor. Makes me unbelievably happy. He says most of it is built on localhost and he's linking it to Vercel and GitHub tomorrow. Can't wait to see what he makes.
Shoutout to Collin. Shoutout to Ruby. Shoutout to Emma. See you next time.
