Fisher Brewing Company is a craft brewery in Salt Lake City's Granary District. It's Utah's oldest brewery brand, originally founded in 1884 and resurrected in 2017 after fifty years dormant. They brew over 100 unique beers per year with a taproom-first, community-focused approach.
The modern brewery was brought back by four partners after nearly five years of planning:
Fisher is now employee-owned and community-focused.
Fisher operates a 10-barrel brewhouse with 17 rotating taps in their taproom. They brew over 100 unique beers annually across styles: hoppy IPAs, dark beers, sours, lagers, and seasonal offerings. The majority of sales come through the taproom with some to-go purchases. Flagship Fisher Lager anchors the lineup.
Fisher is a microbrewery and does not publish revenue figures. In 2019 they produced around 1,700 barrels, with roughly 90% sold through the taproom. They've since expanded and continue to grow as one of Salt Lake's most respected craft breweries.
Fisher has a standout brand and design team. They work with Kylee Firlit Creative for custom illustrations and seasonal beer can designs. The work features vibrant, mountain-inspired imagery that gives Fisher a distinctive look on shelves. Rich color and energetic aesthetics reinforce the brewery's identity and connect with outdoor-loving beer drinkers. The can art alone is worth noticing.
My favorite Fisher beer is the Cerveza, a Mexican-style lager. It's light, crisp, and sessionable at 4.7% ABV. Perfect for a hot day or when you want something refreshing without the heaviness of an IPA. It's the kind of beer that disappears too quickly from the fridge.
