Information Hardhat Handles

Hardhat handles information you enter or import, including project names, owner and estimator details, quantities, rates, cost lines, bid dates, notes, contact details, attachments, and exported bid documents.

Storage and Processing

Your Hardhat workspace is stored locally in the app's macOS container. Imported files are read only when you choose them, and exports are written only to locations you select. Hardhat does not require an account or cloud workspace for V1.

Deleting the app may not delete its macOS container automatically. You can remove local Hardhat data from macOS or contact support for help locating it.

Hardhat MCP

The optional Hardhat MCP helper runs locally and provides read-only access to your saved workspace for MCP clients you configure. It does not edit estimates, send email, call an AI model, or upload your workspace. A configured MCP client may process returned information under that client's own privacy terms.

Email and Exports

When you choose a mail action, Hardhat opens a draft in Apple's Mail app. Hardhat does not send messages itself. Files you export or attach are handled by macOS and the destination apps or services you choose.

Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking

The Hardhat Mac app does not include advertising, cross-app tracking, or third-party analytics SDKs. Hardhat does not sell personal information.

Data Sharing

Hardhat does not transmit your estimating data to Mason Earl. Information leaves the app only when you choose an operating-system action such as exporting a file, composing email, or configuring another local client to use Hardhat MCP.

Changes to This Policy

If Hardhat's data practices change, this page will be updated with a new effective date before those practices are represented in a released version.
