Daily Word Quiz has no accounts, advertising, analytics SDKs, or tracking. Gameplay data stays on your device unless you choose to share it through Messages.
Local app data
The Messages extension stores your selected answers, quiz snapshots, completion dates, word history, received results, card-style preference, and a randomly generated player identifier in local preferences. These support your history, streak, and comparisons. The app does not upload these records to Mason Earl or an app-operated server and does not provide cloud syncing. Apple may include app data in device backups according to your settings.
What sharing sends
A challenge card’s link contains the original quiz, including its word, definition choices and correct-answer information, plus its identifier, date, and card style. Before you play, Challenge the chat prepares the quiz for sending. After you lock an answer, Send result also includes your selected answer and random player identifier, along with results previously received for that challenge. These result snapshots can contain up to 24 players.
You decide whether to prepare and send a card. Locking a guess does not send anything automatically: you must use the share action and the Messages send arrow. Apple delivers the message to your chosen conversation. Recipients can retain or forward it, including result snapshots received from other players.
The card preview conceals spoilers, and the app requires a player to lock their own guess before displaying comparisons. This is a user-interface rule, not separate encryption or a security boundary. Someone inspecting or forwarding a message link can access its encoded quiz and result data.
Messages and permissions
The extension uses the selected interactive message to open its quiz and prepares cards in the active conversation. It does not read your conversation history or contacts. Player labels are generic rather than contact names. Messages delivery and storage are governed by Apple’s services and your settings.
Purchases
The app is preparing for App Store review as a one-time paid download, with no subscriptions or in-app purchases. Apple handles App Store payments; the app does not receive payment-card details. Final pricing and availability will appear on the App Store when released.
Support and website visits
If you email hi@masonearl.com, Mason Earl receives your email address and the information you send and uses them to respond to your request. Do not include private conversations or quiz links unless you intend to share their contents.
These support pages do not include advertising or analytics scripts. The hosting provider may process technical request logs to serve and secure the site. Current quiz links store the encoded quiz snapshot and shared results in the URL fragment (the part after #). A normal browser request to the website does not send that fragment to the hosting provider. The request can still include the word identifier, challenge date, card style, and format version in the URL query. Recipients, the browser, client-side software that processes the full link, or someone inspecting or forwarding it may access or retain the fragment data. The fragment is not encryption or a guarantee of secrecy; spoiler concealment remains a display rule.
Removing data
Deleting the app removes its locally stored progress and received results from that device. It does not recall shared cards or erase copies kept by recipients. Delete sent messages using Messages; Apple manages backups and purchase records separately. Contact support to request deletion of information you supplied by email.
